Avisena Selects Intuit Health’s Patient Portal


Integrating Online Portal and Revenue Cycle Management Solutions Will Improve Patient Collections, Reduce Costs
 
 
CARY, N.C. & MIAMI--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Avisena, one of the nation’s leading providers of revenue cycle management software, services and business solutions for the healthcare industry, has partnered with Intuit Health to improve the way its physician practices and their patients communicate, while offering an easier way to collect and pay medical bills online.

Through the agreement, the Intuit Health patient portal online bill pay, budget payment plans, virtual card swipe and Ask a Biller solutions will soon be available to a minimum of 50 Avisena practices located throughout the southeast. Hundreds more Avisena practices are expected to be deployed over the course of the agreement. Intuit Health is the healthcare unit of Intuit Inc. (Nasdaq:INTU - News).

Online Payments Means On Time Payments

In the last 12 months, patients have paid more than 368,000 medical bills using the Intuit Health patient portal. Patients using the portal and bill pay solution paid their bills 18 days faster, are more also satisfied, make fewer phone calls to the doctor’s office, and complain less often about waiting room times and filling out redundant forms. As a result, portal clients spend less time mailing and calling patients, while staying on schedule.

Growing Demand for Patient Portals

Intuit Health’s patient portal currently enables more than 4 million patients and 44,300 providers nationwide to easily and securely communicate and accomplish important tasks online. Patient demand, provider need and government incentives have driven 1.5 million new patients and 18,250 providers to start using the portal in just that last 12 months.

Patients and doctors have used the Intuit Health patient portal more than 42 million times in the last year to complete medical forms and pre-register, request medical appointments and prescription refills, understand and pay medical bills, receive lab results and clinical summaries, conduct virtual office visits, ask clinical questions and resolve administrative issues.
