SAP shows sales software with Web 2.0 interface
(Reuters) - SAP (SAPG.DE: Quote, Profile, Research) demonstrated its first software with a user-friendly Web 2.0 interface on Tuesday, saying it would be available later this month and that it planned to launch more such applications in future.
SAP manager Ian Kimbell demonstrated the software, designed for salespeople to manage their contacts, at a conference for industry analysts in Boston. "The user interface is designed to be very intuitive and easy to use," he said.
Some of the analysts present said that while they had expected SAP, the world's biggest maker of business software, to develop such a product, they had not expected that it to be ready yet.
SAP is striving to make its software, which dominates in standard software for large enterprises to automate and manage business processes, less unwieldy and more user-friendly.
