I. INTRODUCTION

Viewpoint Construction Software (VCS) has been meeting the information management needs of mid range and large volume construction companies since 1976. Formerly Bidtek, we changed our name and logo in 2003 to unify our company and products under a single, distinctive brand. Viewpoint Software is our 5th generation of integrated applications for the construction industry. When we began the project of building Viewpoint Software, there were 3 main goals associated with the project.

Build Viewpoint With The Most Modern Development Tools:

Viewpoint's research and development group evaluated all leading programming and database tools. After an 18-month search, Viewpoint chose Microsoft as its strategic development partner. It was determined that a single vendor approach would eliminate conflicts between products, especially in light of constant changes in development tools, operating systems, etc. Viewpoint Software runs on Windows Server operating systems and utilizes Microsoft's award winning SQL Server relational database. SQL Server has emerged as the No. 1 database for Microsoft Windows Server based applications. The front-end client software is written in Microsoft Visual Basic. Visual Basic is the most popular development tool for Windows* applications with over 3 million developers worldwide. Visual Basic offers a rich development tool set, and, in addition, will provide increasing web development tools & functionality. Reporting is a very key requirement for any contractor. After a thorough analysis of reporting tools, Bidtek chose Seagates Crystal Reports. Crystal is the most popular report writer for Windows* applications. The decisions Viewpoint's development team made almost a decade ago, have proven to very sound based on their overall acceptance in the marketplace. A solid foundation has been laid for Viewpoint.

Provide A Fully Integrated Solution For Mid-range And Large Contractors:

Viewpoint Software offers full integration between the key departments in a construction firm. Estimates, generated in a third party estimating package (or customer-developed spreadsheet), can be uploaded into the Viewpoint Project Management module. The Project Management module has two main functions: First, it provides a purchasing and buy-out function for subcontracts and purchase orders. Viewpoint has engineered an Ole' DB tie to Microsoft Word for generating and tracking the subcontract agreements. Required materials & quantities can be uploaded from estimating in order to generate purchase orders. The estimated units, hours and dollars for each phase on the project is also tracked in this module. To manage the project on a day to day basis, Viewpoint offers a feature rich set of programs for change order management, submittal tracking and control, transmittals, RFI's, meetings, cost projections, punch lists, daily logs, etc.

Viewpoint's powerful suite of accounting software is fully integrated with Job Cost and Project Management. In addition, all accounting modules are fully integrated with General Ledger. The list of accounting/operations modules is comprehensive: Accounts Payable, Payroll, Human Resources, Job Cost, General Ledger, Cash Management, Equipment Management, Inventory, Subcontract and Purchase Order Management, Billing and Accounts Receivable.

Viewpoint offers an "enhanced" batch entry approach. All data entry is done through batch control. During batch entry, data is validated on-line. Look-ups are available at all key fields, including job, phase, employee, vendor, GL account, etc. Batches may be updated as often as needed. A single update makes entries in all modules related to the source module. The enhanced batch approach allows for recall of a transaction in a subsequent batch in order to make any necessary changes. Any changes flow through with the appropriate audit trails.

Top quality support is as important as the product itself in insuring the overall satisfaction of the client. Bidtek?s support organization, based at Viewpoint's Portland, OR headquarters, is an experienced team of professionals equipped to handle all aspects of your installation.

Implementation & Training: New customers are assigned Account Managers from Viewpoint. Viewpoint's Account Managers are either accounting or project management specialists. The Account Managers are key contacts for all issues relating to set-up and implementation of the software. The Account Managers also provide on-site training and consulting during the implementation process.

Quality Phone & Internet-based Support: Viewpoint's support department, comprised of approximately 30 individuals, offers top quality support to its customers. Support staff are available from 5:00 AM to 5:00 PM Pacific Time. All calls are logged (with an urgency rating) through Viewpoint's central dispatch desk, and are entered into a state-of-the-art support system called Clientele. The next available specialist responds to the call. If the question or problem cannot be resolved over the phone, the support specialist requests access to the clients system over the internet. This on-line support is a tremendous benefit to Bidtek's customers.

On-going Regulatory Updates & Enhancements: The monthly software maintenance fee insures that your software stays current with the latest tax and regulatory enhancements. In addition, valuable new features are made available for the modules you own.

Listen Carefully To Customer Feedback: Viewpoint's Software Suggestion Program gives customers a mechanism to provide valuable feedback on desired features and functionality. All suggestions are logged into a central database. Monthly, a review committee meets to discuss recent suggestions. Frequently requested program enhancements or features of special merit are scheduled in a future general release.
